その昔，ジャズメン等は「CATS」と呼ばれてた。それ程時代の 先端に立ち、前衛的な音楽を奏でていた。それが本来のジャズである。ジャズに於いてのギターの立ち位置は、そもそもがリズム楽器であると言うこと。主旋律 を担うのは，サックス、トランペット等の管楽器、もしくはオルガン・ジャズもある。管楽器及びオルガン等は、そのサウンドのブレス，切れと言うものはハッキリとしておりそれが故に曲に抑揚が付き、 ダンサンブルに聞こえ「ノリ」と言うものを生み出している。その切れ味に追従出来るキレの良さを持ったフルアコ・サウンドがこのデトロイト・ジャズの持ち 味である。白人的な甘美なジャズと言うイメージのものよりも、黒人的でアタックの強い情熱的なプレイヤーの為のギターである。

セミアコ、ソリッド・ギターでは出し得ない「エアー感」を持ちつつも切れ味も併せ持ち、そして約2.1kgと言う超軽量なフルアコは、このデトロイト・ジャズ以外見当たらない。
